THE BIG DAY

Pooring with rain (yes it does rain sometimes in Mauritius as well) we left this morning to Port Louis, the capital.
Big day today because we were going to sign the consitution! All excited at the lawyer's office WE DID IT! And now VINIVI Ltd. can be officially registered! It's amazing, I still haven't really realized!

In the meantime, our first employee has started working. We can't wait for the website to go online but still much needs to be done.

THE BEGINNING

How did this all start you may wonder? There was this French guy, his name is Gilles, who happens to be my neighbour on this beautiful island in the Indian ocean!He went on a holiday with his wife and didn't like the hotel where they stayed. He wanted to warn people, not to go there, write down his dissatisfaction, tell his story but there was no such website in French. That's how the idea was born.
I liked his idea and how lucky, I've worked many years in tourism so that's how I got in!
Our third partner, the IT specialist, still can't make up his mind whether he prefers to stay in Paris or rather comes to join us here in Mauritius but we are positive that he won't be able to resist the temptation...


THE NAME

That wasn't as easy as we thought. We had pleny ideas but it's amazing to see that most domaine names are already registered.
The name should have not more than three syllabus, it should have no meaning and off course it should be available. Later we added that it should be pronouncable in every common language and preferably the same in every language.
We went through all Greek gods and godesses, consulted Greek and Latin vocabularies for travel related words, invented names ourselves and finally remembered good old Julius Ceasar who came, saw and conquered 'VINI VIDI VICI', we simplified it and VINIVI.COM was born!


EXCITING

Who doesn't dream of starting his own company? I can't really believe it yet but that dream is about to come true for me! I feel that I was at the right place (and what a place) at the right moment and that is just so exciting!
